At Willaston, we aim to deliver a creative and ambitious Geography curriculum. We want to provoke and provide answers to pupils questions about the natural and human aspects of the world. In line with the National Curriculum for Geography, our curriculum at Willaston is carefully planned to provide a progressive development of knowledge and skills. We aim to inspire children’s curiosity about where they live and the wider world and how to take responsibility for the environment.
Activities planned by teachers promote the children’s interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. Our curriculum enables our pupils to become global learners, enabling them to make a difference in and to the world they live in. Pupils map and field work skills are built on and developed each year, enabling them to become highly skilled Geographers. Our cross curricular approach enables pupils to utilise skills from other areas of the curriculum in their geography work.
