Small Fundraisers

We run small fundraisers and sell refreshments at school events throughout the school year.

What's going on behind the scenes......

We have been working on 2 grant applications to support our Place of Space project, and regenerate the garden area, both have now been submitted and we are awaiting the decision

Place of Space update - Phase 1 has been completed, unfortunately we have encountered delays starting phase 2 (installation of artificial grass to create an all weather area, with bark infill) and are currently searching for a new contractor to lay the artificial grass who has availability.

Every penny of the profits raised is ploughed back into the school and in recent years we have been able to fund:

  • Class set of Sphero coding robots - just arrived
  • Library books for reluctant and dyslexic readers for KS1 and KS2 - on order
  • Graphic novels for KS2 aligned with the Accelerated reader scheme - on order
  • A new set of Beebots - just arrived
  • A new purpose built bike and scooter shelter
  • Commemorative Jubilee Coins for every child.
  • An IT system upgrade to increase functionality of classroom IPads and laptops
  • Subsidised leavers hoodies for Y6 new
  • A school library area and books to fill it.
  • A £10,000 donation towards the cost of the Outdoor Learning Journey project.
  • Class set of Lego WeDo coding equipment and Duplo coding train for Reception.
  • Playground equipment.
  • Picnic tables to allow the children to eat outside.
  • Interactive whiteboard for the reception classroom.

How do I get involved?

None of the above could be possible without the amazing support of our volunteers, and we are always keen to welcome new members. We are a social group who meet every few months to chat about all things FWSA and plan events. Why not come to a meeting, or join our volunteers WhatsApp group to find out more? We’d love to see you there. Please use QR code at bottom of page to join our WhatsApp group.

There are so many ways you can help us and the range of support currently ranges from people who man stalls at events and bake cakes to people who design our event graphics and complete our financial returns.
