Our Wellbeing Wizards consist of children from Years 3-6.
They applied to be members of the group by writing a letter to explain why they would be good candidates and how they could support the children's Wellbeing and Health & Safety at Willaston.
The children have met twice already this term and discussed different projects they would like to work on. We have discussed Healthy Snacks, Sun Safety and Road/Rail Safety as different areas to target this year.
Our Y6 Wellbeing Wizards have arranged to meet with the Site Manager and Health & Safety Governor after Christmas in order to complete an official Site/Health & Safety walk around the school.
The Wizards are also organising an assembly to promote the eating of healthy snacks at breaktimes, a letter to parents/carers to encourage their children to choose healthy choices, a meeting with Mr Perrin, the school cook and governors to discuss how we can promote Healthy Snacks within school and they would like to create a recipe/ideas book for healthy snacks which can be made at home.
Recently, the children visited Wistaston Church Lane Academy to meet with their Children's Safeguarding Group - 'Safety Squad'. The children shared ideas and initiatives and have also discussed a joint project related to Road Safety. The two groups are hoping to meet again after Christmas at Willaston to begin planning their joint venture!
