Toni Brookshaw - Chair of Governors:
I joined the Board of Governors in March 2017 and was elected as Chair of Governors shortly after. I love being part of the school and am so proud of the Willaston team and community. I am also a member of the Resources and Curriculum Committees. I have 15 years experience in education, across a variety of settings. I am a qualified secondary school teacher, teaching History and Politics. I work in a local Cheshire East school, that was rated Outstanding by OfSTED in 2015-2016. I am also the Specialist Subject Lead for History at Cheshire East SCITT.
Dr Jenny Moran - Chair of Curriculum Committee:
I have been a Governor at Willaston for nearly 16 years, 8 of which was as Chair. I am now Chair of the Curriculum Committee. My 3 children all went to Willaston and I have seen the school through many changes. I work at Keele University and have a PhD in immunology and inflammation. I love being a Governor at Willaston; we have fantastic children and supportive parents who really care about their children, it is a privilege to help keep Willaston successful.
Ken Mitchell - Chair of Resources Committee:
Quality education is very close to my heart. Previously I was both the Chair of Trustees for a Multi Academy Trust (The Birchwood Trust) and Chair of Governors at the Berkeley Academy where I was a governor for nine years. I currently Chair the Resources Committee at Willaston. I have an international commercial background stretching back over 30 years. The business skills that I have acquired on this journey are the ones that I use within the school forum and hope these will aid Willaston in improving on its already fabulous offering.
Professor Steve Cropper:
I was appointed to the Board in January 2010. I work at Keele University, as a specialist in health services and education management. As you will imagine, I talk a lot, but I also run, walk and climb a bit. I am on the school's Curriculum Committee and have a particular interest in issues related to SEND provision. I am also Chair of Governors at another school.
