This Week's News and Spellings

This Week's Learning

  • English: As part of Pride week, we have been reading ‘Bill’s new Frock’. In this book, the main character wakes up to find he is a girl and the story describes his day at school. The children have been exploring how the characters are treated differently if they are male or female and will write a diary entry later in the week. We have also revisited apostrophes for possession and relative clauses.
  • Maths: This week we have continued to learn about shapes. We have named different types of triangles and quadrilaterals and explored symmetry. To enjoy the weather we have taken some of our learning outside. Please remember to learn your tables for this week’s test.
  • Topic: During pride week, we have explored stereotyping of jobs and people and written a poem to perform at our pride celebration on Friday. In PE we have been getting ready for sports day.
  • Next week is test week for year 4 and move up morning on Wednesday.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

PE: Don't forget PE kits on Thursday for a double dose lesson.

SPELLING: Spellings will be given on a Friday; to be tested the following Friday.
