This Week's News and Spellings

This Week's Learning

  • English: This week we have used all the great grammar features we have learnt and have written our own stories. We, like Leon, visited a magic show and were transported to another world through a portal. The children had great ideas: some visited computer games; others magical kingdoms and some even turned into other creatures.
  • Maths: This week has seen us comparing and rounding decimals. We have also revisited short multiplication and bus-stop division. The children have tried some fun maths websites on the new laptops, which they could use over the holidays to learn their tables.
  • Topic: In Science we investigated whether gas has any weight- this involved lots of shaking of fizzy pop bottles.
  • HOLIDAY HOMEWORK: To complete our work on ‘Leon and the Place Between’, the children need to learn (or research) a magic trick during the holidays. We will then write instructions when we return – making a class magic book. Don't forget the activities on the homework matrix.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

PE: Don't forget PE kits on Thursday for a double dose lesson.

SPELLING: Spellings will be given on a Friday; to be tested the following Friday.
