The role of our Local Governing Body is to support and challenge the Headteacher and the Senior Leadership Team so that the vision that we have set for the school is both adopted and driven forward.
As Governors we are involved in all aspects of school life. The Governors of the Local Governing Body meet twice per term. Each meeting has a specific focus - Resources and Curriculum - although we also discuss items as they arrive. Alongside this we also have link governors who work closely with different educational areas within the school. These link governors also provide reports to the Local Governing Body so that we have a closer understanding of these areas. Further monitoring is undertaken in a strategic manner, linked to the school development plan.
Should you have any specific queries for the Local Governing Body, please do contact us at governors@willastonacademy.co.uk. Minutes of previous meetings are available from the school office on request.
