Spellings will be taught explicitly on a Monday and followed up in shorter sessions throughout the rest of the week. 

We will not be testing the class on spellings weekly anymore, but we will continue to monitor their progress termly and in lessons. 

Below is our spelling grid so that you can see what spelling rule is being taught each week. 

We will also be checking how the class are spelling the Year 1 and Year 2 common exception words. 

It is essential that, in preparation for KS2, the class are able to spell these words.
